9 new supermodels you need to know

Swimsuit body extraordinaire Kate Upton might be who everyone is
talking about, but the real star of Spring/Summer 2013 seems
to be an androgynous Polish nymph called Malgosia Bela.

Vogue catalogued fashion’s newest ‘It’ girls to find who has designers
and photographers most excited this upcoming fashion season.

Model: Malgosia Bela
Campaigns 2013: Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli, Miu Miu
The slender, blonde Polish model is the lone star of Alexander Wang’s powerful Spring/Summer campaigns shot by Steven Klein. Her androgynous features –- a Wang signature –- give her a chameleon–like ability to slip into any role, almost unrecognizable from the one you saw before.

Model: Cara Delevigne
Campaigns 2013: Burberry, DKNY
Thought the Burberry campaign was talked about more for featuring
David Beckham’s son Romeo than Cara, the bushy-browed model has already become
a fast fixture on almost every modeling ramp, notching more than 50 shows during the Autumn/Winter season alone. She also won Model of The Year at the British
Fashion Awards in 2012. Her bright, bold campaign for DKNY cements her
spot as continued flavor of the season.

Model: Karmen Pedaru
Campaigns 2013: Michael Kors, Hugo by Hugo Boss
Classic Caucasian beauty, Karmen Pedaru is ranked number seven on the Models.com ranking scale. She’s been the face of Michael Kors since 2011, even scoring a spot on the coveted Victoria’s Secret fashion show runway.

Model: Meghan Collison
Campaigns 2013: Mulberry
Snub nose, pale skin, mousy brown hair. Doesn’t exactly sound like a top model
but Meghan Collison’s vaguely extra-terrestrial features are what make her so popular for ad campaigns, where the need to ‘stand out in a crowd’ trumps notions of conventional beauty.
Her ethereal photos for Mulberry is a testament to that.

Model: Arizona Muse
Campaigns 2013: Miu Miu, Nina Ricci
Despite a name like that, it took the mother of one a haircut to get noticed.
After chopping off her long locks into a boyish shag, Arizona shot to instant fame in 2012,
capping off a stellar year with a dreamscape campaign for Nina Ricci SS 2013.

Model: Edie Campbell
Campaigns 2013: Burberry, Saint Laurent
The face of Burberry and Saint Laurent, Edie Campbell also has another, somewhat stranger,
claim to fame. She was the target of death threats from fans of the pop group One Direction,
after she posed with them for a magazine photo shoot. Not many models can boast of that.

Model: Saskia de Brauw
Campaigns 2013: Giorgio Armani, Saint Laurent (menswear), Prada
That Saskia de Brauw fronts campaigns for both Giorgio Armani womenswear,
and Saint Laurent menswear in the same season speaks for her shape-shifting skills
in front of the camera. The strong-jawed model isn’t your traditional beauty, and
that’s remained her strong suit.

Model: Ruby Jean Wilson
Campaigns 2013: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton
All of 18, Ruby Jean Wilson has one all-powerful supporter in the fashion world -- Marc Jacobs.
The multi-talented designer has cast Ruby in lead roles at both his outposts,
not to mention picked her to open and close his Spring 2013 runway show.

Model: Julia Nobis
Campaigns 2013: Saint Laurent, Proenza Schouler
Shot by Saint Laurent artistic director Hedi Slimane, Julia’s twig-like frame was the
perfect match for Slimane’s 70’s rock chick campaign. From black and white, the Aussie model
was then drenched in watercolours for her star turn at Proenza Schouler.
